Eat your spinach first

I remember many nights as a kid sitting at the kitchen table with my sister and brother. Lots of good memories, except when my mother served boiled spinach. We’d moan and groan, but we knew we had to eat it. My sister would wait until mom wasn’t looking, then push it to the outer limits of the plate hoping to spread it thin enough so that it looked like she’d eaten most of it. I took a different tact. I’d eat it first. Get it out of the way. Hold my nose if I had to. Then, when I finished my meal, I’d leave the table with the taste of what I liked in my mouth.

Why am I telling you this? Because it’s good to do what you least want to do early in the day, so you’ll have the taste of accomplishment as you move forward.
