I was talking with a colleague the other day who groaned when I said, “We have 5 months left in 2020.” (Now it’s 4.5.) Stacey and I made commitments to get in better physical shape this year back in January. Ha! That’s gone out the window. But, it doesn’t have to stay out. I’ve gained weight during my Covid-19 self-imposed, mostly quarantined, lifestyle. I’m sitting at my computer for hours and coaching 100% by phone. Going out for a long walk with my husband almost daily is treasured time out, but eating as I have more than moving as much as I used to is having a negative effect. So, it’s time for a change. This is day 7 without chocolate (a big shift for me), and I’ve started using the rower I’ve had for years. I’m also re-committing to exercises I know will make a difference. Shifting some intake and increasing movement will have a positive ripple effect in ways I’m sure will surprise me in 2021. What about you? What commitment have you wanted to make that will make a difference in your life if you commit to it for the next 4.5 months? So that when 2020 ends, you’ll feel good about what you’ve done personally and/or professionally. Bottom line… what are you committed to doing that will make you feel good about yourself? It’s sure to have a ripple effect. |
