Coaching:
Think about a time when you worked with someone who saw potential in you, and they let you know it. What impact did it have on you?
What’s it like to work for someone who shares with you something about themselves so that you know what is important to them, what they value?
What happens when you get to know someone you work for and the rapport between you has a good, comfortable flow?
Thinking about these questions will hopefully open up your thinking about your connection with your people. What can you do to let them know you care?
Action:
This week, let someone know what you value about them. For example, email acknowledging what you appreciate about them… it could be something they said, did, or how they showed up in a situation, recently or a while back and it has stuck with you.
Don’t stop there. What is something you value personally or professionally that you could share with one or more of your people?
When you do these things, what outcome would you like to get? What difference might it make if you let them see your heart?
