Last Sunday, I felt honored to read the blessing my friend had selected for her wedding. As I practiced aloud and to myself, the words, all about what love is, rang true to me.
As I reflected on the words after the wedding, it hit me that the traits, vital to true and lasting love, also apply to good leadership. Leaders who exhibit these same traits are the kind of people you want to work with and for.
Leadership is patient, it is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. Leadership does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It trusts (and is trustworthy), hopes, perseveres.
My wish for you during this holiday season is that you exhibit these traits yourself and look for them in others.
